Poem by Doniell Cushman
I can't shake the feeling
that you know You know when I dream of you, or when I can't control my memories You're really there as I saw you Once, long ago When we were so young, and stupid With our hearts on our sleeves Romeo to my Juliet While you were there, now here in my mind only You leave messy footprints Messages trapped in time And I need an interpreter to even fathom the meanings More complex than I can stand Like water weight that won't drop You entangle, strangle Dangle my life over the edge So you see me A night-stalker of time immemorial You know these thoughts I waste time On you So let me go, gone Away forever, released No more a Romeo Leave with your filthy impressions Touch my heart no more © Doniell Cushman.
